Difference Between virgin and Remy Hair extensions
When it comes to real human hair extensions, many people assume that all hair types are relatively the same.
In fact, there are many differences among them.
If you've ever wondered: What's Remy hair? What's virgin hair? How we can find the difference between them? Which one should you choose? ...you’re in the right place...
In general, virgin hair extensions is my recommendation if you are looking to have extensions in your hair for longer than 2 months.
What is Remy Hair?
Remy hair is considered good quality of human hair that means the hair's cuticles are kept intact and always going in one direction. Here are the specific features:
◆Remy hair are perfect for short term hair extensions, it will lasts 1 to 3 months and a maintenance is required every 6 weeks. They are more affordable than virgin hair. Disadvantages are: the hair will dry faster, harder to maintain, will loose length faster, more wave and will be more expensive on longterm because you will need to purchase a new set sooner.
What is virgin hair?
◆ Virgin hair is chemically unprocessed human hair, which is collected from a single donor. The virgin hair has not been altered by dyes, perms, bleaches or harsh washes. It will be coloured only once in the process of making the extensions.
◆ Virgin hair and Remy hair both are 100% natural human hair. The difference is that the donor of Remy hair used to dye, perm or bleach his or her hair while the donor of virgin hair doesn't use any chemical products.
Virgin hair is used for long term hair extensions. It offers the best quality among all the hair extensions on the market. The hair will last between 8 to 18 months and maintenance is required every 6 weeks. They are more affordable for long term hair extensions and the easiest to maintain.
