Expert Tips for Lasting, Healthy Extensions

Preparation before application

Wash your roots twice with clarifying shampoo. This will remove the buildup on your hair. It is very important for the bonding of the extensions.

Do not use any other products on the natural hair. Dry and flat iron on low heat.

 Hair extensions care

Do not shampoo your hair for 48 hours after installation, this gives enough time for the bond to settle.

Always use a sulfate free shampoo and paraben free conditioner. Shampoos with sulfate will damage and dry the hair extensions prematurely. Rinse your hair thoroughly.

Prior to bed, pull your hair back into a loose and low braid.

Brush your hair at least once a day with a synthetic boar bristle brush.

NEVER wear your hair in a high updo, if you need to tight up your hair, it has to be low and loose. Otherwise you would damage your natural hair.

NEVER USE A VOLUMIZING SHAMPOO Volumizing shampoos raise the cuticle of the hair and will cause damage and tangling.

Never apply conditioner or hair mask near the bonds. This will cause slippage or unbonding of the extensions. Only shampoo, dry shampoo and hair spray can go on your roots.

Treat once a week with hair mask, from tip to near the bond, but never on the bond. A good rule of thumb is to keep it below the height of your earlobes.

A professional hair extension maintenance is required every 6 weeks. Going longer than 7 weeks will cause damage to the natural hair.

If going swimming, always wet hair with tap water before. Apply conditioner ( away from roots ) and braid hair, avoid salt water and chlorine.

Never go to bed with wet hair.

Washing with lukewarm water is best.

Avoid  pulling on the extensions.

Do not use products that contain sulfur or glycerin, silicon, etc... such as dandruff shampoos. If you have dandruff , “Surface Awaken For Healthy Scalp and Thinning Hair” is recommended and safe for the extensions.

Use medium to low heat on extensions when styling and stay away from the bonds.

Use clarifying shampoo on your roots every 2-3 weeks to clear buil-up.

Some clients experience itching to the scalp, this is perfectly normal. Remember that having hair extensions is not a natural process , your head has to adjust to having them.

Use a heat protector before styling. “Unite 7 Seconds” detangler is recommended.

Wash your hair every 3 to 5 days. Your hair needs to be dried and styled after each wash.

A small amount of leave in conditioner ( Unite 7 seconds detangler ) on them every  day is recommended.

Please follow the instructions above for best long lasting results and enjoy your amazing luxury hair extensions.
